Desk Cable Anchor System
A modular, adhesive-free cable management set built around magnets and a reusable under-desk base.
The problem
I run three machines, two monitors and a laptop off one desk. Every cable management product I bought assumed I was willing to stick something to the desk. I am not.
The design so far
The anchors are two-part: a base that hides under the desk mat and a top that carries the cable. Magnets do the work, and the channel is sized in three variants for USB-C, braided HDMI and figure-eight power.
Current status
- Base and USB-C variants are printed and in daily use
- HDMI channel needs another 0.2 mm of clearance
- Magnet pockets are press-fit; still deciding between glue and friction
The plan is to publish the files once the HDMI variant stops pulling free when the monitor arm moves.
