OzTechShed

OzTechShed isn't live yet — this is a test site. Nothing is for sale and no orders are being taken.

About

A small workshop that makes things and writes them down.

OzTechShed is Mick's workshop — part 3D print farm, part electronics bench, part software project. It grew out of Oz 3D Print, and it is where the builds get documented, the parts get sold and the useful mistakes are kept so they are not repeated.

Background

Who is behind it

I am Mick, a maker based in the Southern Tablelands, NSW. I have been tinkering with printers, electronics and code for years, mostly on projects that start as a practical fix and end up considerably more involved than planned.

This site is deliberately honest about the process. Projects are published with their status — concept, in progress, complete or retired — because not everything works and the failures are often more useful than the wins. Products in the store are things I actually print and use, made in small batches rather than mass-produced.

If you want to get in touch about a build, an order or a collaboration, the contact page is the place to start.

What I do

Three overlapping disciplines

Most projects here use at least two of these, and occasionally all three at once.

3D printing

FDM printing, model repair, filament tuning and small-batch production runs for the store. PETG, PLA and the occasional experiment in something stranger.

Electronics

ESP32 and Raspberry Pi builds, sensor wiring, power supplies and the inevitable soldering-iron burn. Mostly practical stuff: controllers, monitors and test rigs.

Software

Automation, small web tools and scripts that keep the workshop running — print queues, note taking, store plumbing and data from the bench.

The bench

What's in the workshop

A rough inventory of the gear the projects are built on.

  • FDM printer — 256mm build volumeplaceholder
  • FDM printer — 350mm build volumeplaceholder
  • Resin printer — 10in monoplaceholder
  • Soldering and rework stationplaceholder
  • Bench power supply and multimeterplaceholder
  • Calipers, scales and a very patient set of hex keysplaceholder
  • Filament dryer and dry storageplaceholder
  • ESP32 and Raspberry Pi parts drawersplaceholder

Placeholder list — replace these entries with the real machines and gear once the workshop inventory is finalised.
